Top MLB Parlay Odds & Picks for Monday, May 9 (2022)

It’s a brand new week in baseball. Although we have a new series, today’s featured games will have series that end after the weekend postponements. We also have the opportunity for a big win today as we will have an underdog designated to take a win.

Kansas City Royals (+115) vs. Baltimore Orioles (-135)

First pitch 12:05 p.m. ET

The Royals come into this game in trouble as they have lost six of their last eight games. The offense continued to struggle as they are 29th in points (3.04) and 27th in batting average (.218).

They’ll send in Carlos Hernandez, who was successful against Baltimore with a 1.80 ERA and 1.10 WHIP last season. It should be another good day as he has success against this current roster. Collectively, they’re hitting .200 in 23 career at-bats.

The Orioles will send in Tyler Wells, who has been inconsistent this season. He wasn’t able to have a long outing this year as he failed to pitch in the sixth of his five starts and pitched twice in less than three innings. Even a below average roster like Kansas City could be a tough day for him because he couldn’t have a lot of easy innings.

The Orioles aren’t a good offensive team to start with, so seeing them face a successful pitcher against them doesn’t give you any confidence that they’ll persevere. Grab the Royals with the money line plus for a big payday.

Step 1 : Kansas City ML

Texas Rangers (+180) vs. New York Yankees (-220) O/U

(First pitch 1:05 p.m. ET)

The Yankees’ roster has struggled in recent games since their winning streak was cut short. Over the past three games, they’ve managed just five runs and the team is averaging .158 at bat. A huge contrast to when they regularly scored ten or more during their 11-game winning streak.

With back-to-back strikes, they’ll need Nestor Cortez to keep throwing well. We could easily say that Cortez has been the most consistent pitcher in this Yankees rotation. He leads the rotation with a 1.82 ERA and 11.3 strikeouts per nine. Cortez has been able to use that cutter better than ever before as he gets that late move with batters hitting .189 this year.

Texas has struggled on both sides of the ball this year as they are both 24th in batting average (.224) and ERA (4.23). They were one of those teams that only get good pitches or hits on a given day.

Jon Gray will be on the mound, and his first year without a Rockies uniform isn’t going well. His pitches are flat and he’s been hit hard all year with more than eight-of-nine hits and a 40% hit ratio.

This Yankee lineup should be able to reach Gray and clinch the series with a victory.

2nd step : Yankees -1.5

Cleveland Guardian vs. Chicago White Sox O/U 7.5

(First pitch at 8:10 p.m. ET)

The White Sox have begun a resurgence as they head into this series on a six-game winning streak. Their starting rotation has worked well and the offense is improving, but still not where it should be.

Michael Kopech will start, and he’s pitching well, but he still hasn’t made a decision this year. It’s been interesting to see how well he pitched and he hasn’t gone more than five innings this year, but for opposing hitters it hasn’t been a relief as the White Sox have the ninth-best ERA in the bullpen this season (3.19).

The Guardians come in just as hot as they’ve won seven of their last 10 games, including three of four against the Blue Jays. After a terrible 2021 season, their offense has rebounded as they’re fourth in points per game (4.74) and third in batting average.

The Guardians will send in Zach Plesac who, after a strong start to the season, has had a few poor appearances. In his first three starts he had a 1.53 ERA, and in his last two he has a 10.38 ERA. He gave a ton of hits all season, the big difference now is that they drive runs.

Plesac’s last quality start came against those White Sox on April 21, and while the Chicago roster is improving, they’re still 28th in points per game this season, and even last week they weren’t only 20th in points scored.

The point total is a little high for this game. Kopech has been pitching well all year and is backed by this really good bullpen, and the White Sox roster has improved, but they’re still not pushing the points at all levels.

Step 3: Less than 7.5
